When the Same Theme Keeps Appearing…

This week I’ve had another synchronicity in my clinic, an unusually high number of clients coming in with plantar fasciitis. Sometimes certain themes seem to arrive in waves. One week it’s headaches. Another it’s nervous system burnout. And this week? Plantar fasciitis.

Now of course, plantar fasciitis has very real physical contributors, inflammation, strain, footwear, posture, overuse, tight muscles, and the way we move through daily life all matter. But I also find it interesting to gently explore the emotional and energetic layers that may sit alongside physical pain too (as any of my clients know I am most definitely going to question deeper).

In many holistic philosophies, our feet symbolise movement, grounding, direction, stability, and how we move forward through life. And plantar fasciitis can feel incredibly restrictive. Painful first steps in the morning. Hesitation with movement. Bracing against discomfort.

Could it be they are:

  • Resisting moving forward in some area of life?

  • Feeling unsupported?

  • Carrying too much pressure?

  • Pushing through exhaustion without enough grounding or rest?

  • Feeling stuck between where we are and where we want to be?

Louise Hay (author of You Can Heal Your Life - fabulous book if interested in this kind of work) often connects physical symptoms with emotional patterns, and while I couldn’t find a specific interpretation for plantar fasciitis, her work frequently explores how the body can reflect deeper emotional tension, fear, stress, or resistance we may be carrying.

Of course, this doesn’t mean pain is “all in your head,” nor does it mean we should ignore the physical side of healing. The body deserves practical support too.

Sometimes our bodies whisper long before they scream.

And sometimes healing isn’t just about easing inflammation it’s also about asking ourselves:

What am I carrying?
Where do I need more support?
What would help me feel grounded again?
